The Lepel Dairy and Canning Plant invested over Br5 billion in fixed assets in 2010.

January 22, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Lepel Dairy and Canned Goods Plant OJSC plans to invest over Br5 billion in fixed assets in 2010, the enterprise informed a BELTA correspondent. The main part of the investments will be directed towards the implementation of a project to convert the boiler house into a mini-CHP plant. This will not only cover the plant's needs for heat and electricity for its own purposes but also generate income from supplying surplus to the city. Currently, the enterprise is developing a business plan for the project, calculating the required investment volume and expected economic effect, and determining funding sources. In addition, in 2010, the second stage of the new robotic farm at Agricultural Production Cooperative "Zaozerye" is to be commissioned. Part of the funds will be allocated for the planned modernization of the enterprise's production facilities. Based on the results of 2009, the plant produced products worth Br142.5 billion, which is 112.6% compared to the same period last year. Products worth over $20 million were exported. Supplies were made to Russia, Kazakhstan, as well as Venezuela, France, Iraq, Iran, Syria, and Poland. The energy saving indicator was minus 9.5%. Investments in fixed assets in 2009 reached Br24.8 billion. Among the largest implemented projects are the launch of a new compressor shop with a capacity of 3.1 thousand kW and the commissioning of the first stage of a new dairy farm for 930 head of cattle at Agricultural Production Cooperative "Zaozerye". The enterprise was founded in 1951. It was reorganized into an OJSC in 1998. The plant includes the agricultural production branch "Zaozerye", Tolochin Butter and Cheese Plant, Dokshitsa and Beshenkovichi dairy plants. Lepel Dairy and Canned Goods Plant OJSC specializes in the production of whole milk products, skimmed milk powder, cheese, and ice cream. The product range includes over 100 items.
