The forest road network will increase by a hundred kilometers

The Ministry of Forestry reported that since the beginning of the year, 5 forest roads with a total length of about 25 km have been commissioned. It is planned to build 14 more facilities in the remaining months. By the end of 2020, the forest road network should increase by at least a hundred kilometers. The largest number of forest roads will appear in the northern region of Belarus.

– Since the beginning of the year, 2 forestry roads with a total length of about 7.6 km have been built and commissioned in the Ushachi and Verkhnedvinsk forestry enterprises, – noted Maria Mikhnevich, Deputy General Director for Ideological Work of the Vitebsk State Production Forestry Association. – It is planned that by the end of 2020, 5 more similar facilities will be built. As a result, 35.8 km of new forestry roads will appear in the region, which is one-third of the plan for the current year as a whole across the republic. Vitebsk, Disna, Shumilino, and Liozno forestry enterprises will be supplemented with additional kilometers.
