Vitebsk region forestry enterprises increased exports of deep processing products by 1.7 times
October 10, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Forestry enterprises of the Vitebsk region increased exports of deep processing products by 1.7 times in January-September compared to the same period last year, Deputy Head of the Sales Department of the Vitebsk Regional Production Forestry Association (PLHO) Alexander Ovsyannikov told a BELTA correspondent.
For 9 months of this year, deep processing products were exported for $3.3 million, compared to $1.9 million for the same period last year. The share of these products in the total export volume was about 36%, while in January-September 2011 it was 13%, respectively.
The growth in the output of deep processing products is due to the extensive modernization of forestry enterprises carried out in 2010-2012. In 2011 alone, Br17.2 billion was allocated for these purposes, and Br7 billion was allocated for 9 months of 2012. Due to the invested funds, equipment for debarking wood was installed in the Begomlsky, Disnensky, Lepelsky, and Rossonsky forestry enterprises, and cylinder equipment was installed in the Verkhnedvinsky forestry enterprise. Plants for the production of wood pellets were launched in the Begomlsky, Bogushevsky, and Tolochinsky forestry enterprises. The Surazhsky forestry enterprise launched the production of fuel briquettes. Reconstruction also affected other forestry enterprises.
In general, over the past period, the association's forestry enterprises sold products worth $11.1 million to other countries, which corresponds to the planned target. This includes 225.3 thousand cubic meters of round timber, 16.2 thousand cubic meters of sawn timber (an increase of 1.6 times compared to the 2011 level), about 6 thousand tons of fuel pellets, 400 tons of fuel briquettes, 40 kg of coniferous tree seeds (to Sweden), 2.8 thousand seedlings (to Russia), and 2.3 thousand cubic meters of debarked poles. Supplies were made to Poland (about 50% of exports), Lithuania, Sweden, Russia, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Great Britain, Estonia, China, and Azerbaijan.
The Vitebsk Regional Production Forestry Association includes 17 forestry enterprises. -0-
