A mobile mental health support team has appeared in the Polotsk district

March 30, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. A flying team for providing emotional support has been created in the Polotsk district, BELTA was informed by the Polotsk District Executive Committee. The motto of the unusual team is "We fly to help!", the target audience is lonely elderly people, of whom there are more than four hundred in the district, and the logo depicted on the car is a cheerful bee with a gift. The core team includes social workers, medical workers, and a hairdresser. Two more "bees" are recruits, selected specifically to provide emotional support. Their selection will be based on the wishes of the person the team is visiting, from among members of the local veterans' organization, activists of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, the Red Cross, social service employees, etc. If interests and capabilities match, any person whom the elderly person wishes to see can become a "bee". On average, the team's visit will last about three hours. During this time, the "bees" will provide the necessary assistance to their charge, surround them with care and attention, and, of course, have a good chat. A flying team visit can be requested completely free of charge. The first visit is scheduled for next week. The new social service has been introduced by the territorial center for social services for the population of the Polotsk district after studying the need for it and the opinion of citizens. For now, it will be provided only once a week to lonely elderly people. The possibility of expanding the target groups and the number of visits will be considered after studying the demand for the team's work. -0-
