Property tax benefits totaling Br10.3 billion have been granted to residents of the Vitebsk region this year
October 28, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. Benefits for property tax payments totaling Br10.3 billion were granted to residents of the Vitebsk region in 2010, the press center of the regional tax inspectorate of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties informed a BELTA correspondent.
This year, the total amount of calculated property taxes from individuals exceeded Br20 billion, while Br9.7 billion, or about 48%, will actually be transferred to the budget. The remaining part is accounted for by citizens who are exempt from paying property taxes in accordance with the law, including almost 120 taxpayers who were granted benefits by local authorities.
The adoption of decisions by local authorities to increase land tax and real estate tax rates, and the establishment of environmental quality coefficients, made it possible to ensure additional property tax revenues to the budget in the amount of almost Br4 billion.
In total, there are 319,000 real estate taxpayers and over 338,000 land taxpayers registered in the region, which is more than a quarter of the population of the Vitebsk region. Compared to 2009, the number of property taxpayers increased by more than 7,000 people, and the number of registered properties for these payments grew by almost 20,000.
The regional tax inspectorate reminds all citizens who own, possess, or lease land plots, houses, summer cottages, garages, and other real estate objects and are not exempt from paying these taxes in accordance with the law, of the need to settle with the budget by November 15. -0-
