Personal receptions of citizens by senior officials give an impetus to solving people's problems - A. Shoretz

July 15, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Personal receptions of citizens by high-ranking officials help to speed up the resolution of people's problems. This opinion was expressed today to a BELTA correspondent by the Minister of Housing and Communal Services of Belarus, Andrei Shoretz, who was holding a personal reception of citizens at the Vitebsk regional organization of the RPO "Belaya Rus".

"Trips to the regions give a certain impetus to solving issues important to people, because when a problem is exposed at the republican level, local authorities receive an additional incentive for its prompt resolution," said Andrei Shoretz, noting the significance of holding such events.

"These receptions are important for people, but the issues raised at them will be resolved sooner or later by the people who are directly supposed to resolve them - local executives. And people should understand this," the minister concluded.

In total, about 30 residents of the regional center attended the reception by the Minister of Housing and Communal Services, and 14 calls were received. Mostly, the issues concerned the need for major repairs of houses, roofs, water supply systems, landscaping, as well as red tape shown by officials in solving these problems. "These are standard issues that have always arisen and will arise, because this is life," stated Andrei Shoretz. At the same time, pressing, egregious issues were raised that should be resolved urgently. The minister did not rule out the possibility of fault on the part of housing and communal services workers who did not perform their duties with sufficient quality.

The reception of citizens in Vitebsk was the first experience of cooperation between high-ranking officials and the "Belaya Rus" association. "I think that normal interaction should arise, such work will be established more widely and will find support from the heads of other departments," Andrei Shoretz expressed his confidence, commenting on his participation in the organization's initiative.-0-
