LLK-Naftan intends to organize the production of additives for oils used in marine vessel engines

July 30, Minsk / Irina Aniskevich - BELTA /. JV "LLK-Naftan" plans to organize the production of additive packages for cylinder oils used in marine vessel engines. Mikhail Babushkin, Deputy Director for Production and Technical Issues of the enterprise, informed a BELTA correspondent about this. According to him, this ambitious project is being implemented jointly with LLC "LLK-International" (Moscow), LLC "LLK-Martin-Rus" (Saint Petersburg) and the branch of LLC "LLK-Martin-Rus" (Hamburg). The project implementation is scheduled for the end of 2011 - the beginning of 2012. A new additive package is being developed for OJSC "Lukoil", which, among other products, produces oils for marine vessel engines. However, in their production, it is forced to use expensive products from major American companies such as Lubrizol, Infineum, Afton, and Chevron. At the same time, the market capacity for marine oils is quite large - Lukoil sells marine engine oils in over 100 ports worldwide. Therefore, if the project for mastering the domestic production of additive packages is successfully implemented, JV "LLK-Naftan" will be able to significantly increase its production capacity. At the same time, the interlocutor noted that the implemented project is very complex, costly, and risky. Currently, the enterprise's specialists are selecting the right formulation for the additive package, followed by bench tests in a German laboratory, after which the additive package will be tested in operating conditions in a marine vessel engine for a year. JV "LLK-Naftan" was established on April 28, 2006. The founders are OJSC "Naftan" (Belarus) and LLK International B.V. (Netherlands, a subsidiary of OJSC "Lukoil", Russia). The main activities of "LLK-Naftan" are the production and sale of additives and additive packages for lubricating oils, with the priority of supplying these products to OJSC "Naftan" and OJSC "Lukoil" plants, including in order to reduce the dependence of these enterprises on imported additives from foreign countries. At the same time, "LLK-Naftan" has the largest production capacities for the production of oil additives in the CIS. The product range includes products of various functional groups capable of providing a wide range of operational properties for modern oils. -0-
