The business plan for the development of the flax industry in the region for 2011-2015 has been developed and approved. It provides for a set of organizational, technical, and financial measures to ensure profitable flax production and processing. In particular, the Orsha Flax Mill intends to purchase and install 37 units of equipment. In 2011, the enterprise plans to produce 500 thousand linear meters of flax fabrics. A number of measures are aimed at increasing the yield and quality of flax fiber. The possibility of creating an organizational structure headed by RUPTP "Orsha Flax Mill", based on mutual cooperation, is also being considered. It is proposed that it will include 10 flax mills in the Vitebsk region: Beshenkovichi, Verkhnedvinsk, Dubrovno, Kokhanovo, Liozno, Orekhovo, Plissa, Postavy, Senno, Chashniki, which have developed raw material zones, the best performance results, and the necessary engineering and technical staff, as well as flax mills from other regions. In 2011-2013, these plants will undergo modernization with the installation of high-performance technological equipment. It is planned to allocate Br90 billion for these purposes. In 2011, retooling will begin with the Liozno, Plissa, and Orekhovo flax mills. The remaining flax mills in the region will be merged with agricultural organizations or attached as branches to modernized flax mills. According to Alexander Kosinets, the holding should include the Flax Research Institute and a bank, in addition to the flax mill and flax mills.
