May 27, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. The best team of young rescuers and firefighters will be determined today in Vitebsk, the Vitebsk Regional Emergency Situations Department informed a BELTA correspondent. Five clubs representing Vitebsk, Polotsk, Novopolotsk, Orsha, and Gorodok are participating in the regional rally. The participants were selected based on the results of district tours. The competition for victory among them is very serious, as the main prize is a trip to the republican rally at the National Children's Health Resort "Zubronok". The second and third place teams will receive honorary diplomas and prizes. In addition, the jury will name the best participants in individual competitions. Pleasant surprises also await them. The best club will be determined based on the results of five competitions: a parade and song review, climbing a assault ladder to the window of a training tower in fire sports, water rescue, KVN (Club of the Funny and Resourceful), and a quiz on safe living. The event, which brought together over 100 boys and girls aged 12 to 15 today, is held to popularize fire sports among teenagers, instill in them skills for safe living, and promote a healthy lifestyle. -0-
