The best young plowman of the Vitebsk region will be determined by a professional skills competition

The regional professional skills competition among young machine operators of the Vitebsk region will start on October 8 in the Beshenkovichi district, the head of the youth affairs department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Valery Kunashko, told a BELTA correspondent. In his opinion, such events promote best practices and improve skills, contribute to the growth of the prestige of working professions, and stimulate young people to participate in the implementation of state agrarian policy. This year's sixth competition is attended by 42 young machine operators from 21 districts. All of them are no older than 31, but they are already winners of district professional skills competitions. The regional competitions will be held in two rounds. In the first, theoretical round, contestants will have to answer 100 questions. The design of agricultural machinery, labor protection and traffic rules, the basics of agronomy and agricultural production are just a small list of topics that a machine operator must know. The practical round, the most spectacular and exciting, will take place on October 9. Participants will have to prepare the unit for work and plow the stubble field on a plot of 36x100 m. The jury's requirements for the quality of work will be strict: the deviation from the straightness of the first furrow should not exceed 10 cm, and the plowing depth should be 7 cm; penalty points will be awarded for every 2 cm deviation in one direction or another. In addition to these requirements, the jury will also assess the preparation of the tractor for work and the appearance of the contestant. The competition will be held on "Belarus-1221" tractors using semi-mounted reversible plows. The competition will conclude on October 10 with the awarding of winners in individual and team championships. The organizers of the competition are the youth affairs department of the regional executive committee, the committee for agriculture and food of the regional executive committee, the regional committee of trade unions of agricultural workers, and the education department of the regional executive committee.-0-
