The best young turner, fitter, and milling machine operator is being selected in the Vitebsk region

Young turners, millers, and toolmakers from various enterprises in the Vitebsk region have started competing for the title of "Best in Profession" today, Valery Kunashko, head of the Department for Youth Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, told a BELTA correspondent. The regional professional skills competition among workers is being held for the fifth time and, according to Valery Kunashko, this time it has brought together many representatives not only from machine-building plants from Vitebsk and Orsha, but also from rural enterprises – district agroservices and agricultural cooperatives. 20 turners, 11 millers, and 7 toolmakers will take part in the professional competition. None of them are yet 31 years old, but they are already production leaders. Young workers will have to manufacture a part according to a drawing, with a complexity corresponding to the 4th-5th grade. However, first, they need to confirm their skills in a theoretical competition, which includes many questions on related specialties and safety regulations. Winners in three nominations will receive valuable prizes, diplomas, and recommendations for awarding the next qualification grade. The award ceremony will take place on May 29. The regional professional skills competition is held with the aim of improving the professional training of young workers, the quality of their work, as well as popularizing working professions among youth and retaining them in production. The founders of the competition are the Department for Youth Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and the Regional Union of Employers. This time, the production base is provided by the republican unitary production enterprise "Vityaz". In addition to the competition for the title of the best in profession among young workers, a professional skills competition among young machine operators is held annually in the Vitebsk region. -0-
