The best drummers from Belarus, Lithuania, and Poland will perform at the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" festival.

July 3, Minsk /BELTA/. An unusual concert awaits guests and residents of Vitebsk at the jubilee XX International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar" on July 11. As reported to BELTA correspondent by the event organizers, the best drummers from Belarus, Lithuania, and Poland will take the stage of the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall with the show program "Gods of Rhythm".

From Poland, Stanislaw Skoczynski, a renowned percussionist, professor at the Warsaw Academy of Music, founder of the international percussion festival Crossdrumming in Warsaw, and the popular duo Hob-beats, consisting of Magdalena Kordylasinska and Milosz Pekala, will come to Belarus. Hob-beats has participated in many festivals in Poland, Switzerland, Belgium, Denmark, Japan, and other countries.

Guests from neighboring Lithuania will be the renowned ensemble Giunter percussion and its leader, drummer-showman Pavel Giunter.

Belarus will be represented by the ensemble Grig - percussion group, well-known both in the republic and abroad. The ensemble frequently performs on the stage of the Belarusian State Philharmonic, tours the country and abroad, participates in international festivals, and records programs for Belarusian television and radio. In 2007, the ensemble's solo CD "Night of the Moon dances" was released on Radio France and is successfully sold in Europe.

The concert organizers hope that exotic instruments and fiery rhythms with elements of magic and theater will attract discerning viewers, despite the large number of festival events. On the evening of July 11, together with the "gods of rhythm," the audience will be able to attend a carnival in Rio de Janeiro, find themselves in an African village, witness a Voodoo ritual on the island of Haiti, travel to samurai Japan, and visit the sacred land of Israel.-0-
