The country's best skydivers will compete for the A. Gorovets Cup in Vitebsk
The best athletes of Belarus will compete for the A. Gorovets Cup in classic parachuting in Vitebsk from June 19-21, the Vitebsk Aeroclub informed a BELTA correspondent.
More than 30 top parachute athletes from Vitebsk, Minsk, Baranovichi, and other cities will gather at the Kukovjachino airfield. And only one of them, who demonstrates the best landing accuracy, will become the owner of the challenge cup.
"The championship is held for the fifth consecutive year. Until last year, Vitebsk athletes did not let the cup leave the club. But in 2014, it was won by the absolute world champion Oleg Fomin from Minsk. Let's see if he can keep the award this time," the organizers noted.
The open championship in Vitebsk traditionally serves as a kind of training for the republican championship. This year, it will be held in Bobruisk from July 22-26.
The aeroclub added that the Vitebsk public and city guests can witness the skill of parachute gliding during the "Slavianski Bazaar" festival. The open city championship for landing accuracy (on Victory Square) is planned to be held during the festival.
