The best Internal Affairs Departments of the Vitebsk region were awarded the prize "Saint George - Award of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee"
The number of crimes has been steadily decreasing over the past ten years. Thus, in 2020, there were fewer murders, intentional grievous bodily harm, robberies, thefts, and burglaries. Minors and individuals with criminal records were less involved in illegal activities. At the same time, an increase in fraud and extortion was recorded. The number of cybercrimes has more than doubled. To combat this trend, we are focusing on prevention, including informing citizens about methods of money theft, said the head of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Regional Executive Committee, Police Colonel Andrei Lyubimov.
— Your activities have ensured the proper level of public safety in the region, — said the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Major General of Militia Sergey Khomenko. — I ask you to continue to assist the executive authorities in the context of the pandemic and ensure public order during mass events.
