Grodno determined the best district police inspectors of the country; traditionally, the winners of the competition were awarded keys to new service vehicles.

Grodno summed up the results of the XIII Republican review-competition of professional skills for the title of "Best District Police Inspector" and "Best Juvenile Affairs Inspector". More than 40 participants from all regions of the country competed for two days in drill, firearms, medical and special training, and forensics. They fulfilled standards for physical fitness and demonstrated skills in combat techniques. Contestants also took part in the regional meeting of district police inspectors, juvenile affairs inspectors, and representatives of other prevention entities.

The best district police inspector in the country was recognized as Vadim Markovich, a representative of the Novopolotsk City Department of Internal Affairs. He was awarded the keys to a new service vehicle. The Vitebsk region won the team competition in this nomination.

"The main priority in the work of district police inspectors is to ensure effective prevention of offenses, which primarily involves working with people. The functions of a district police inspector are broad: considering applications and reports of crimes and offenses, working with citizens' appeals, and knowing the legislation on crime prevention," noted Oleg Karazey, Head of the Prevention Department of the Main Department of Public Order and Prevention of the Public Security Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He emphasized that it is important for a district police inspector to have communication skills, be able to empathize, understand any situation, and kindly explain to each party the possible consequences of unlawful actions.
