The best large family is being chosen in the Vitebsk region, the committee for labor, employment and social protection of the Vitebsk regional executive committee informed a BELTA correspondent. The first regional qualifying round of the regional competition started today in Novopolotsk. Similar stages will be held in the coming days at the Palace of Culture of Railway Workers in Orsha and the Vitebsk District Palace of Culture (Novka agro-town). A total of more than 20 family teams will take part in them. Only nine participants will reach the final of the competition, which will be held on May 18 at the cultural and sports center of the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Railway – the top three leaders from each qualifying round. To win the title of the best large family, they will have to compete in artistic and amateur contests, demonstrating the cohesion of their families in performing various tasks. The review competition is held to enhance the prestige and authority of large families, strengthen their unity, spiritual and moral foundations, revive and promote family values and traditions. Its organizers are the committee for labor, employment and social protection and the department of culture of the Vitebsk regional executive committee. -0-
