Lukashenko announced the next meeting of the Supreme State Council for April and outlined the agenda

The next meeting of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly is planned to be held in April. This was announced by the President of Belarus, Chairman of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting of the Presidium of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly.

"The beginning of this year in our country has been very active in socio-political terms. Following the electoral campaign, the next meeting of the All-Belarusian People's Assembly is scheduled for April. And today's Presidium will launch preparations for this most important state event," said the head of state.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, in its new constitutional status, will be held for the second time, and a total of seven assemblies have been held. According to the Constitution, the All-Belarusian People's Assembly is assigned a strategic role in the comprehensive protection of Belarus's sovereignty. "The decisions made by this people's power body, which ensures broad involvement of our citizens in the country's development processes, speak eloquently of its significant powers: five-year socio-economic development plans, the National Security Concept, the Military Doctrine, and others," said the President.

According to Alexander Lukashenko, this fully applies to the issues that should be submitted to the upcoming All-Belarusian People's Assembly. One of the main ones is the President's Address to the Belarusian people and parliament. "The Address is both a report to the people, and the definition of future tasks, and answers to the most vital and relevant questions," he said. "The country has entered a five-year period of quality. The Year of Improvement has been launched. The last year of the five-year period (2021-2025) is ending. This predetermines the complexity and comprehensiveness of the tasks facing us."

The next issue concerns the new constitutional oversight powers of the All-Belarusian People's Congress. For the first time, delegates will hear a report from the Prime Minister on the implementation of the country's socio-economic development programs. "In his speech, the head of government should not only report on the work done but also outline the strategy of the socio-economic development program for the upcoming five-year period," noted the Belarusian leader.

The All-Belarusian People's Congress will also, for the first time, have to make a number of personnel decisions.

According to the procedure, the President submits candidates for judges of higher courts for approval by the Presidium. "You have the list. These individuals will be presented by the Chairpersons of the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court. If you support them, we will include the issue of their election on the Congress's agenda," said the head of state.

Another topic is the organizational structure and commissions of the All-Belarusian People's Congress. Alexander Lukashenko noted that this issue had so far remained a stumbling block. "You recall the debate at the previous Presidium meeting. I instructed the Presidium, with the participation of the Head of the Presidential Administration, to further work on these issues. I hope we will consider them and make a decision," he recalled.

The head of state emphasized, in general, that the issues are serious, and therefore, mistakes cannot be made when making decisions. "The All-Belarusian People's Congress should occupy its niche in the state and not interfere with the competence of other state bodies. We must not create new meetings, correspondence, or formalism. And most importantly, there should be no clashes between different government bodies, or between all of them and the All-Belarusian People's Congress. As pioneers, we are breaking new ground, forming a structure for years to come. And the productivity and authority of the Congress itself, as well as other state administration bodies, will largely depend on this decision," stated the Belarusian leader.

"If we want to have an effective state, we must start with optimizing management processes, total debureaucratization, and iron discipline in execution. Ultimately, the people's trust depends on this. Everything we promised people together with you during the election campaign, we must definitely implement. And we will do it," summarized Alexander Lukashenko.
