Lukashenko appointed an aide for the Vitebsk region
The Vitebsk region needs to be pulled out of its current state, although the situation in the region cannot be called a catastrophe. This was stated by the Head of State Alexander Lukashenko when appointing Sergey Levkovich as Assistant to the President of the Republic of Belarus - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region.
"I hope that there will be results from your work. I really hope so. You need to find your place and work in the interests of the Vitebsk region. We need to pull the Vitebsk region out of the state it is in. I wouldn't say it's a catastrophe. But this region is not the best in the country, and it has a lot of potential," the Belarusian leader emphasized.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that Sergey Levkovich knows the Vitebsk region. "The region is not simple, to say the least. You are an agronomist, you know agriculture well, based on your biography. This is what we need in the Vitebsk region. Analyze the path we have outlined for the development of agriculture. You know that we created so-called integration structures, companies there. I agreed to this option - it is, in principle, a win-win, it doesn't spoil anything. If we fail to implement it - well, it's very simple for the integration structure to break up. They lose nothing. We need to try to implement this project to the end. This is your most important task," the Head of State advised.
Alexander Lukashenko pointed out that all these tasks are implemented by people, and personnel is Sergey Levkovich's area of responsibility. "Work together with the governor, but do not forget that you are not the governor's subordinate. You are the President's ears and eyes in this region. I expect an objective assessment from you. There should be no fighting there. There should be an objective assessment of the situation," the Belarusian leader emphasized.
He instructed that all decisions should stem from life, as Alexander Lukashenko himself always demands. For example, in animal husbandry, it is necessary to promptly make decisions on transferring livestock to other farms if there is no possibility to feed and keep animals somewhere. This will at least reduce the number of livestock deaths. And then it is necessary to complete the work on creating the necessary feed base, which includes equipping places for storage.
