Lukashenko will visit Vitebskdrev OJSC today
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko will visit OJSC "Vitebskdrev" today during a working trip to the Vitebsk region. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the press service of the head of state.
Alexander Lukashenko will be informed about the implementation of the investment project at the enterprise to organize the production of MDF/HDF fiberboard and the reasons for not meeting its deadlines. The project implementation began under the State Program for Innovative Development of Belarus for 2007-2010. However, the deadlines have been postponed four times, and commissioning is currently scheduled for June 2013.
The project provides for the production of medium and high-density fiberboard in the amount of 140 thousand cubic meters per year, as well as laminated flooring in the amount of 2.5 million square meters.
During the visit, the production and economic activities and development prospects of the enterprise will also be discussed. Net profit in the amount of Br6.4 billion was received from product sales in January-October 2012. Sales profitability was 5.9%. Export deliveries of products were carried out to 24 countries.
The head of state will familiarize himself with the progress of the construction of a new workshop and visit the production territory of the old enterprise OJSC "Vitebskdrev", and will get acquainted with the exhibition of products manufactured and planned for production at the enterprise.
The history of the enterprise began with the construction in 1926 and commissioning in 1927 of a plywood factory. OJSC "Vitebskdrev" includes Beshenkovichi and Gorodok forestry enterprises, the agricultural branch "Begomlsky" and 9 production workshops. The production activity of the enterprise is based on logging, sawing, woodworking, production of chipboard and fiberboard, joinery and construction products, synthetic urea-formaldehyde resins. More than 40% of the manufactured products are exported.
During the working trip, the President will also be informed about the socio-economic development of the Vitebsk region and the city of Vitebsk.
