The President visits the "Legmash" plant in Orsha

Президент в Орше посещает завод "Легмаш"
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko sets the task to maintain and increase the production of civilian products at the "Legmash" plant in Orsha, alongside mastering the production of new items for the military-industrial complex. He stated this during his visit to the enterprise.

The head of state was briefed on the company's performance. Recently, it has been involved in the production of special items for the military-industrial complex. It is planned to further expand the product range.

"It's not like we haven't had anything before. We can't just keep 'weaving bast shoes' all the time. We need to produce serious products too," noted Alexander Lukashenko, reacting to the report on mastering the production of new types of products.
It is important to note that "Legmash" has been producing and continues to produce goods for purely civilian purposes for many years – from cast-iron frying pans and cauldrons to products intended for the oil and gas industry. This, among other things, has formed a significant export component in the company's operations.

Alexander Lukashenko demanded and instructed the State Control Committee to monitor the situation, ensuring that while working on military orders, the production of such civilian and in-demand products does not take a backseat or disappear altogether. "If there is demand, we must produce. We have the skills, the expertise, the people, and they must do it. This requires the strictest control," said the head of state.
He emphasized that all this must be done simultaneously and without detriment to the military-industrial complex. "We need to produce and increase civilian products, not for the military-industrial complex. Ruining exports is a crime. Take this under strict control together with your assistant and the chairman of the executive committee," Alexander Lukashenko instructed the Chairman of the State Control Committee Vasily Gerasimov.
