In 2010, Lukomlskaya GRES increased its electricity generation by almost 30%
February 1, Minsk / Anna Kot - BELTA /. Lukomlskaya GRES (Vitebsk region) increased electricity generation by almost 30% in 2010 compared to 2009, the station informed a BELTA correspondent.
Almost 14 billion kWh of electricity was produced. The capacity utilization of the largest Belarusian power plant in 2010 averaged 244.7 MW per unit (223 MW in 2009) with a nominal capacity of each power unit of about 300 MW. Over the past year, the station saved more than 17.5 thousand tons of conventional fuel (13.8 thousand tons in 2009).
As explained at the station, the volume of energy produced corresponds to the assigned dispatch schedule. According to the results of 2010, the Belarusian energy system as a whole generated more electricity than in 2009. The increase in generation is due to the increase in electricity consumption in the republic. Colder weather conditions also affected the volume of heat energy supplied. In addition, Lukomlskaya GRES has completed the modernization of four power units, which allows saving up to 1.5 tons of conventional fuel per day for each unit, while the station's capacity has increased.
As reported by Belenergo State Production Association, Lukomlskaya GRES plans to commission new generating equipment, a 400 MW combined cycle gas turbine unit, in the future using a Chinese loan. Thus, the composition of generating equipment will be updated and the overall efficiency of the power plant will be increased.
Lukomlskaya GRES is a branch of Vitebskenergo State Enterprise of Belenergo State Production Association. The station has eight power units. The installed capacity of Lukomlskaya GRES is 2459.5 MW, which accounts for more than 30% of the installed capacity of the entire energy system of Belarus. In summer (the period of highest capacity utilization), it produces about 60% of the electricity generated in the republic. -0-
