Lukomlskaya GRES reduced energy production by 32.5% to 2.7 billion kWh in January-April 2009
May 25, Minsk / Milena Anufrienok - BELTA /. Lukomlskaya GRES (Vitebsk region) generated 2.743 billion kWh of electricity in January-April 2009, which is 67.5% of the level of the same period last year, the station informed the BELTA correspondent.
The volume of generated energy corresponds to the set dispatch schedule. Based on the results of the four months, the Belarusian power system as a whole generated less electricity than in the same period last year. This is due to a slight decrease in electricity consumption in the republic, as well as an increase in electricity imports compared to 2008.
The capacity utilization of the largest Belarusian power plant in January-April of the current year averaged 212.1 MW per unit (for the same period in 2008 - 242.7 MW) with a nominal capacity of one power unit of 300 MW.
Currently, seven out of eight power units of the station are in operation. Major repairs are being completed on power unit No. 4. A steam turbine is being modernized here with a complete replacement of the flow path. The technical re-equipment is scheduled to be completed in June of the current year. As a result, the capacity of the unit should increase by 15 MW, and the energy production efficiency will increase. In 2006-2008, turbines on power units No. 1 and No. 2 were similarly updated at the station. At the same time, the next stage of technical re-equipment is more extensive: more auxiliary equipment is being installed on the fourth power unit, which will increase the reliability of the station's operation.
In accordance with the contract, the supplier of the main equipment for the modernization of the first, second, and fourth power units of the station is the Russian company OAO "Power Machines".
The specific fuel consumption for electricity generation at Lukomlskaya GRES in January-April 2009 was 316 g per 1 kWh. Over four months, 3615 tons of standard fuel were saved at the station.
The installed capacity of Lukomlskaya GRES exceeds 2.4 thousand MW (the capacity of the Belarusian power system as a whole is about 7.8 thousand MW). The first power unit of the station was commissioned in 1969, the last, eighth, in 1974. In 2008, Lukomlskaya GRES generated 13.867 billion kWh of electricity, which is 3.7% higher than the level of 2007. -0-
