Lukomlskaya GRES saved more than 2 thousand tons in January-February
March 25, Minsk /BELTA/. The Lukomlskaya State District Power Plant (Vitebsk region) saved 2,028 tons of equivalent fuel in January-February. For the same period in 2010, this figure was 2,023 tons, the station informed BELTA correspondent.
In two months, the SDPP generated 1.6 billion kWh of electricity, which is 100% compared to the same period last year. As explained at the station, the volume of generated energy corresponds to the dispatch schedule. The capacity utilization of the largest Belarusian power plant in January-February this year averaged 216.9 MW per unit (for the same period in 2010 - 216.6 MW) with a nominal capacity of one power unit of about 300 MW. The specific fuel consumption for electricity generation in January-February was 312.6 g per 1 kWh (for the same period in 2010 - 311.5 g per 1 kWh).
Last year, the Lukomlskaya SDPP increased electricity generation by almost 30% compared to 2009 to 14 billion kWh, saving over 17.5 thousand tons of equivalent fuel (in 2009 - 13.8 thousand tons). The capacity utilization of the power plant averaged 244.7 MW per unit (in 2009 - 223 MW). Thus, according to the results of 2010, the Belarusian power system as a whole generated more electricity than in 2009. The increase in generation was due to increased electricity consumption in the republic. Colder weather conditions also affected the volumes of heat energy supplied. In addition, the modernization of four power units has been completed at the Lukomlskaya SDPP, which allows saving up to 1.5 tons of equivalent fuel per day on each unit, while the station's capacity has increased.
As reported by the "Belenergo" Production Association, the Lukomlskaya SDPP plans to commission new generating equipment - a 400 MW combined cycle gas turbine unit - in the future, using a Chinese loan. Thus, the generating equipment will be updated and the overall efficiency of the power plant will be improved.
The Lukomlskaya SDPP is a branch of RUP "Vitebskenergo" of the "Belenergo" Production Association. The station has eight power units. The installed capacity of the Lukomlskaya SDPP is 2,459.5 MW, which is more than 30% of the installed capacity of the entire energy system of Belarus. In summer (the period of highest station load), it produces about 60% of the electricity generated in the republic. -0-
