Lukomlskaya GRES increased electricity generation by 35.6% in January-June

July 16, Minsk / Irina Aniskevich - BELTA /. Lukomlskaya State District Power Plant (Vitebsk region) increased its electricity generation by 35.6% in January-June 2010 compared to the same period last year, the station informed a BELTA correspondent. 6.363 billion kWh of electricity were produced. The capacity utilization of the largest Belarusian power plant in January-June this year averaged 241.3 MW per unit (compared to 215 MW in the same period of 2009) with a nominal capacity of one power unit of 300 MW. The specific fuel consumption for electricity generation at Lukomlskaya State District Power Plant in January-June 2010 was 310.4 g per 1 kWh (compared to 315.2 g per 1 kWh in the same period of 2009). Over six months, the station saved 8.1 thousand tons of standard fuel. As explained at the station, the volume of energy produced corresponds to the set dispatch schedule. Based on the results of the six months, the Belarusian power system as a whole generated more electricity than in the same period last year. The increase in generation is due to the increase in electricity consumption in the republic compared to the same period last year. The volumes of heat energy supplied were also affected by colder weather conditions in the current heating season. In addition, in May, Lukomlskaya State District Power Plant completed the modernization of four power units, which will allow saving up to 1.5 tons of standard fuel per day for each of the four units, while the capacity of the power plant has increased. Lukomlskaya State District Power Plant is a branch of RUP "Vitebskenergo" of GPO "Belenergo". The installed capacity of the station is 2.4 thousand MW, which is more than 30% of the installed capacity of the entire power system of Belarus.
