Lukomlskaya GRES has completed the modernization of four power units

June 9, Minsk / Irina Aniskevich - BELTA /. Modernization of four power units has been completed at the Lukomlskaya GRES. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Vladimir Korduba, lead engineer of the RUP "Operational Dispatch Management" of the Belenergo State Production Association. The interlocutor said that the modernization will allow saving up to 1.5 tons of conventional fuel per day for each of the four units, while the capacity of the GRES will increase. The renovation of the power units was carried out in stages, starting from 2006. Previously, the specific fuel consumption for electricity generation was 320 g per 1 kWh of electricity; in the modernized power units, less than 310 g of conventional fuel will be consumed for the generation of 1 kWh of electricity. According to Vladimir Korduba, the economic efficiency of the modernization of the power units is very high - the invested funds, according to specialists' calculations, should pay off within 2-3 years. Lukomlskaya GRES is a branch of RUP "Vitebskenergo" of the Belenergo State Production Association. The installed capacity of the station is 2.4 thousand MW, which is more than 30% of the installed capacity of the entire energy system of Belarus. Since 2002, a technical re-equipment project has been implemented at the station, scheduled until the end of 2010. The work program provides for the replacement of equipment that has exhausted its service life, including the flow parts of steam turbines. -0-
