On August 5, long-haul truck trains will occupy Vitebsk Airport

August 3, Vitebsk / Sergey Kotovets - BELTA/. On August 5, the final of the 6th Republican Professional Skills Competition for Truck Train Drivers will be held at the Vitebsk Airport airfield. For the first time, the final stage of the competition is not held in the capital region, but in the regional center, BELTA was informed by Zhanna Blotskaya, press secretary of the BAMAP association.

Six strongest teams from all regions of the country will gather on the highway near Vitebsk, as well as the Russian team "Sovtransavto-Moscow", which will perform out of competition. The participants of the final races were determined based on the results of regional qualifying stages, in which almost 60 teams participated. In addition, the best drivers from all regions who won in the individual standings at the qualifying stages will compete in Vitebsk.

International drivers will identify the strongest in three stages. The theoretical part of the competition includes checking knowledge of traffic rules, as well as the TIR Convention (International Road Transport) and the AETR Agreement (working and rest regime for international drivers). To increase the significance of the theoretical part of the competition, the organizers have increased the number of penalty points awarded for incorrect answers.

In practical tests, drivers will compete in truck train driving skills, which involves performing nine maneuvers, including a slalom, a circle, and a track. The competition track for participants will be more visual and informative than in previous competitions; drivers will not have to memorize the order of maneuvers, which will be marked with serial numbers. In addition, the most economical driver will be determined. This part of the competition involves covering a distance of 10 km, during which fuel consumption will be measured using a special device. The device, developed by BelNIIT (Transtekhnika), determines fuel consumption per 1 km with an accuracy of up to a gram. Contestants will compete behind the wheel of MAZ heavy-duty trucks with semi-trailers; the total length of the truck train will be about 18 m.

Following the competitive trials, the winners and prize-winners in team and individual standings will be announced. They will take home honorary Cups and diplomas, as well as valuable prizes from Vitebsk.

The competition is held with the aim of improving the professional skills of international drivers, popularizing this profession, and forming a positive image of both transport enterprises and the "BAMAP" association as a whole.
