Maxim Dunaevsky intends to fight the system of patronage at the "Vitebsk-2012" performers' competition

July 13, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Chairman of the jury of the international pop song performers contest "Vitebsk-2012" Maksim Dunaevsky intends to fight the system of patronage at the contest. He said this at the "Star Hour," a traditional festival press conference, a BELTA correspondent reports. Answering a question about the bias of performers' contests, Maksim Dunaevsky noted that accusations of lobbying for participants' interests are made against jury members at all contests, both in Russia and in Europe. "There is a way to fight this system. I know this way and I will apply it," he stated categorically. The jury chairman did not hide that he had already received calls asking him to promote certain contestants. "I answer all calls the same way: 'Of course.' But I won't push anyone. I have no personal interests. I will do everything to ensure that the Grand Prix finds a worthy recipient," said Maksim Dunaevsky. At the same time, the composer noted that the contest does not always yield significant results. This depends not only on the jury's choice but also on the composition of the contestants. "Any judging is subjective, and it takes a lot of effort to make it objective as well," he added. This evening, the draw for the contest of young pop song performers "Vitebsk-2012" will take place. And on July 14, the song competition itself will begin. -0-
