Marina Novitskaya: More active work by editorial offices is needed to expand the presence of the state information agenda on the internet
The chief ideologist of the region noted that, considering the audience's shift to various internet sources, editorial offices need to work more actively to expand the presence of the state information agenda (including regional) on the internet.
- In the Vitebsk region, the information field is under control; sources with a state agenda lead in views and subscribers, - said Marina Novitskaya. - About 90 communities on social networks represent an alternative to them. Mostly, these are regional public pages. The share of internet resources disseminating destructive materials is constantly decreasing; communities and Telegram channels are recognized as extremist in the manner prescribed by law and are losing subscribers. Due to the emergence of new communication channels in the media space, social networks are coming to the forefront in interacting with the population. The promotion of a pro-state agenda on social networks primarily falls on state media. Therefore, it is now important to take measures to increase the audience and popularize content in social network groups and accounts and messengers, including using interactive forms of audience engagement.
