Polotsk DIY enthusiasts' vehicles compete for the title of "people's tractor"

Polotsk DIY enthusiasts will get their due - the results of the first contest of homemade mini-tractors will be announced in the Polotsk district on the eve of the Day of Agricultural and Processing Industry Workers of the Agro-Industrial Complex. Dmitry Dolgov, Head of the Ideological Work Department of the Polotsk District Executive Committee, told a BELTA correspondent about this. This year, the traditional solemn meeting and honoring of the best farmers in the district will be preceded by the awarding of skilled owners who have assembled and use mini-tractors and mini-machines with their own hands for their own needs on their household plots. More than 40 applications were submitted for the contest. The competent jury got acquainted with all the equipment and selected 17 homemade mechanisms for the contest. Five of them reached the semi-finals. The winner and prize-winners will be announced among them right at the solemn meeting. In addition, the local television studio has shot short commercials about each semi-finalist, which will be shown on the channel. Based on the audience's vote, the "people's tractor" will be determined. As Dmitry Dolgov noted, the idea for this contest was suggested by the masters themselves. Local DIY enthusiasts assemble units from old cars and spare parts, which not only help in working on personal plots but can also be noted by designers of machine-building enterprises. -0-
