The large-scale reconstruction of the Postavy Flax Mill is scheduled to be completed in September

Under the state program for flax growing development, the modernization of JSC "Postavy Flax Mill" continues. It is expected that in April, the already delivered Belgian equipment "Vanhauwaert" will be installed in the new workshop, and in May – early June, its launch is planned.

At the end of last year, the management of the flax mill was tasked with constructing the thermal envelope of the new workshop within a few months. Work inside the premises has been ongoing continuously during this time: a part of the double-glazed windows has been installed, and the insulation of the second layer of the roof is being completed.

According to the implementation schedule of the subprogram "Vitebsk Flax" of the Regional Program for Innovative and Investment Development of the Region for 2011-2015, the large-scale reconstruction of the Postavy Flax Mill should be completed in September. According to the assessment of the enterprise director Petr Skurko, as well as Minsk experts, the modernization work is coordinated, currently 150 people are working here, and the foundation for the installation of Belgian equipment has already been laid.

The general contractor is OJSC "Stroitelno-montazhnyy trest №16, g.Novopolotsk". Agro-construction firm "Rassvet-Postavsky", DKUSP "Glubokskaya SPMK-26", OJSC "Vitebskoye MRP" are subcontractors. The issue of competent installation of the fire extinguishing system is currently being resolved, and the new workshop is being supplied with electricity. These works are carried out by OJSC "Tiraspolskaya PMK". Simultaneously, new workshops are under construction (pictured), as the plan is to procure 10-12 thousand tons of high-quality flax straw per year. 78 billion rubles have already been mastered. The first financing was carried out through "Belagroprombank", the second through the Development Bank. Financing in the amount of 120 billion rubles is envisaged for the current year.

Currently, the main production of the flax mill operates in three shifts. While using old equipment, the enterprise produces various types of products – non-woven materials, twine, burlap, combed sliver, and rope. Last Wednesday, another meeting of industry workers was held on its premises.
