A large-scale procession took place in Vitebsk in honor of the 79th anniversary of the Great Victory
The festive column is led by a banner group with a copy of the Victory Banner, the State Flag of the Republic of Belarus, and the flags of the Vitebsk region and the city of Vitebsk. The honorable right to carry these sacred banners is granted to the servicemen of the 103rd Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade. Participants of the republican patriotic campaign "Belarus Remembers. We Remember Everyone" carry portraits of their relatives – front-line soldiers, partisans, home front workers, and former prisoners.
Each of the victorious generation deserves to march in this formation, but time is relentless. They are with us in our memory, in our hearts.
The cheerful mood of the huge column is set by the brass band of the 103rd Vitebsk Separate Guards Airborne Brigade, with its brilliantly polished copper instruments, and the drum corps of the Vitebsk Cadet School, and the drummers and majorettes from educational institutions of the capital of the northern region.
In the festive ranks are representatives of labor and educational collectives from all districts of the regional center, political parties and public organizations, students of Peace Schools, and participants of military-patriotic clubs. Many came with their families, from young to old.
It is felt that people are united by a common uplifted feeling. They have all joined the implementation of the "Flowers of Great Victory" project and have attached boutonnieres in the form of a red-green ribbon and an apple blossom to their hearts.
