Масштабной выставкой, агитпробегом и дискуссионными встречами отметят на Витебщине веху в истории комсомола Беларуси

A large-scale exhibition, an agitation run, and discussion meetings will mark a milestone in the history of the Komsomol of Belarus in the Vitebsk region, as reported by the Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local Lore.

September 2015 marks the 95th anniversary of the I All-Belarusian Congress of the Komsomol, held on September 24, 1920, in Minsk. To commemorate this date, the Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local Lore is hosting an exhibition of photographs, printed and handwritten documents, literary and documentary publications, personal belongings of Komsomol members from the 1960s-1980s, as well as paintings, busts, and sculptures of the Soviet era, showcasing the main stages of formation and development of Komsomol organizations in Vitebsk and the region. The exhibition materials are provided by the museum's collections, regional Komsomol activists, and the regional organization of the BRSM.

"The exhibition runs at the Town Hall until December 1. The idea is to demonstrate the continuity of youth movements in Belarus: the Leninist Komsomol and the modern Belarusian Republican Youth Union. During the exhibition, a series of events are planned: a round table with the participation of state and public figures who were Komsomol members; a video presentation "Komsomol of Vitebsk Region - People, Deeds, Achievements"; guided tours of the exhibition; open debates of the BRSM; an agitation run for the youth organization's activists and Komsomol veterans along the route Vitebsk-Obol-Polotsk-Novopolotsk-Rossony-Vitebsk, and much more," the museum added.
