Mass trade of agricultural products in the Vitebsk region will begin on September 17
The season of autumn agricultural fairs in Vitebsk started on September 10, but most producers presented themselves in Minsk on that day. Lively trade in the regional center itself and other cities of the region will begin on September 17, the Vitebsk City Executive Committee's Department of Trade and Services reported.
Traditionally, autumn fairs will be held on Saturdays until November 5. The Vitebsk City Executive Committee has designated three large sites for the sale of agricultural products. Thus, mass trade in domestic vegetables and fruits will unfold in the city center (on Lenin Street), on Proletarskaya Square, and at the Central Market.
"Producers from districts near Vitebsk, farms, consumer cooperatives, wholesale enterprises, and individual entrepreneurs offer their products - potatoes and other vegetables, fruits, grains, honey, pickles and marinades, and fish. It is not yet time for tree saplings, only flower seeds are available for sale. But by the end of the month, when saplings start to be brought in, we will move one of the trading sites from Lenin Street to the Vitebsk Concert Hall so that there is enough space for everyone," the trade department noted. Non-food products of domestic production are also presented at the autumn fairs. Products are sold at reduced markups or at the manufacturer's price. And, of course, the trade is accompanied by a cultural program - performances by creative groups. This applies to other major cities as well, where special sites have been allocated for fairs: in Orsha - Lenin Street (Jesuit Collegium Square) and KUP "Rynok"; in Novopolotsk - "Disna" Market; in Polotsk - mobile trade in residential areas.
In addition, from September 17, daily mobile trade in potatoes and fruit and vegetable products will be organized at markets and in residential areas of cities - at almost 80 sites. And on October 1, Vitebsk will also host a fair of products from educational institutions of the region "Vosen'ski karagod", which traditionally attracts buyers with "tasty" prices and excellent quality goods.
