Mass arrivals of children at suburban health resorts of Vitebsk region will begin on June 8
Camps are actively preparing to receive the first vacationers. According to the regional department of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Health Resort Treatment of the Population, out of 900 thousand rubles allocated for the preparation of camps for the current campaign, more than half is invested by the owners themselves, the rest is provided by the regional and republican budgets.

For example, the Vitebsk Radio Components Plant "Monolit" allocated up to 300 thousand rubles for the preparation of "Chaika" (Luzhesno, Vitebsk region). The state subsidy amounted to 18.5 thousand rubles.
With this money, PVC windows and doors were purchased, old wallpaper was replaced with bright paint, curtains with blinds, and floors were covered with linoleum. Drying cabinets with software were acquired to dry children's shoes and clothes in damp weather. The furniture in the building for the youngest children has been completely updated, and it was manufactured at the plant's own furniture production. Plumbing has been replaced in all rooms.
New carousels for toddlers and football goals for older children have been installed on the outdoor grounds. New asphalt paths will be laid in the coming days. The camp territory has been treated with chemical agents against mosquitoes, so that annoying insects, and there are always plenty of them in the forest, do not disturb the children.
Much attention is paid to the safety of children's stay. Thus, fire-retardant treatment of premises has been carried out, and a modern fire and security alarm system has been installed.
Structural divisions of the plant, as well as contracting construction organizations, are involved in the preparatory work.
The management of "Monolit" has many plans for further reconstruction and modernization of the camp. As Kamil Gasymov, First Deputy Director – Chief Engineer of the enterprise, said, the replacement of windows and furniture will continue. By the next season, a gym will appear at the camp; the sports equipment has already been manufactured at the plant, and it remains to prepare the premises.
The staff for the upcoming health campaign is also fully staffed, primarily with specialists who have worked at "Chaika" for many seasons. For example, there is a counselor who has spent 30 consecutive years of his working summer at this camp.
The campers also remain loyal to "Chaika". Former "residents" bring their children here. The proximity to the city and the picturesque nature attract many Vitebsk residents. There is always a demand for vouchers, not only among the enterprise's employees. Orphans, children from large and low-income families also spend their holidays here.
The camp will open its doors on June 14, and more than 120 boys and girls will arrive here to spend an active summer in nature. For the second session, the most in-demand one, about 200 vouchers have already been purchased, and demand for the popular month of July exceeds supply. This season, there are more applications than in the previous year.
"Chaika" will be bustling with life until August 12, when the last bus with children who have rested and gained new strength for the school year will leave the camp gates.
Of course, the enterprise's administration would like to see the existing facilities used year-round, creating conditions for the recreation of children and adults in any season. Therefore, the plant is initiating the transfer of the camp to "Monolit's" ownership, as it currently belongs to the city.
In total, more than 16,000 children in the region will spend their holidays in suburban health camps with state support. The full cost of a voucher for parents will range from 400 to 500 rubles, with a state subsidy of 185 rubles.
