The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds about safety rules when heating a stove in frost

Check and, if necessary, repair the stove before operation.

Nail a metal sheet measuring at least 50x70 cm in front of the stove door.

In severe frost, it is better to heat the stove several times a day in small amounts than once a day until it glows red.

Stop heating the stove at least 2 hours before residents go to bed.

Remove ash, slag, and coal to a designated area located 15 m from buildings.

Under no circumstances:

do not heat the stove with the doors open,

do not light the stove with gasoline or other flammable liquids,

do not leave stoves unattended and do not entrust children with supervising heating stoves,

do not dry or store firewood, clothing, and other combustible materials and substances on the stoves.
