The dream of a large family has come true: a family-type children's home has been opened in Horadok
Five children left without parental care will now grow up in the foster family. In a spacious 190-square-meter house, everyone has their own separate room, plus a living room, a playroom, and a small gym. In the spacious kitchen, the family can gather at the common table in full, and they will do so every evening, as Olga Bogdanova said.
The decision to take the children under their wing was well-considered and joint: Olga and Eduard discussed it with their daughter Kristina, who had also been asking her parents for a brother or sister for a long time. Now, the 18-year-old girl will become a reliable friend for her sisters and brother, and possibly a dance teacher, which she is passionate about herself.
"We have long wanted to have many children, but life turned out in such a way that we only have Kristina. We are very happy that we have the chance to fulfill our dream and become parents to wonderful children," said the happy mother.
In addition to the beautiful daughters Victoria, Angelina, Carolina, and Polina, the Bogdanovs will also raise their son Yura. Eduard, who has mastered many professions, will have someone to pass on his skills and abilities to. "I worked as a builder, an erector, at a nuclear power plant, I can do everything with my own hands. I hope my son will become my assistant, and I will be his best friend. I will teach him everything I can do myself," shared the father who suddenly became a father of many.
A new home for them was built in six months, with Br600 thousand from the republican budget spent on its construction – the facility was included in the state investment program. The interior furnishings for the home were gathered by the entire district, with work collectives of enterprises and organizations gifting the Bogdanovs with furniture, bedding, or dishes. A children's playground and horizontal bars will be installed on the 15-are household plot. During the warm season, a small vegetable garden with a flowerbed will also appear here, where everyone will work together.
The opening of such significant social facilities on the eve of the October Revolution Day has become a good tradition for the Vitebsk region. "When such families are created, when people take responsibility for children, it should be spoken about loudly and without hesitation. It is joyful that a large, friendly family will live under the roof of such a beautiful home," noted Vladimir Terentyev, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, promising to visit on New Year's with gifts for each family member.
As emphasized by Dmitry Khoma, Head of the Main Department for Education, the Gorodok district has become a leader in the number of family-type children's homes: the one opened today is the third in Gorodok region and the 32nd in the oblast.
Guests of the celebration presented the Bogdanovs with gifts – household appliances, a television, and a clergyman handed the hostess an icon of the Kazan Mother of God, whose day is celebrated today by Orthodox believers, so that the image of the saint would protect the home where love and mutual understanding would reign. -0-
