At the "Kurgan Druzhby" (Friendship Mound), tribute was paid to those who fought fascism on the front lines and in the rear (07.07.2019)
Once a year, at the junction of three states – Belarus, Latvia, and Russia – a special meeting takes place. This tradition was established by partisans from neighboring countries exactly 60 years ago. The place was named "Kurgan Druzhby" (Mound of Friendship). During the war, they fought shoulder to shoulder against fascism in these forests. There are fewer and fewer veterans, the permanent participants of the celebration, but their grandchildren and great-grandchildren continue to come to the border.
