The labor safety month in the agro-industrial complex has begun in the Vitebsk region
A month-long campaign to ensure safe working conditions has started in the Vitebsk region from July 24 for the period of agricultural crop harvesting, as reported to a correspondent by Sergey Kaminsky, Deputy Head of the Department of Social and Labor Relations, Wages, and Labor Protection of the Committee for Labor, Employment, and Social Protection of the Regional Executive Committee.
The goal of the campaign is to prevent occupational injuries and eliminate violations of labor protection legislation in agricultural organizations during the harvesting period. The work of mobile groups, which include representatives of the departments for labor, employment, and social protection of district executive committees, internal affairs bodies, the Department of State Labor Inspection, emergency response units, and other government structures, will be intensified. Additional measures will also be taken to strengthen labor and production discipline and create safe working conditions at workplaces. In the first half of 2019, a decrease in fatalities from 6 to 5 people and in severe injuries from 13 to 8 people was noted in the agricultural organizations of the Vitebsk region. The rate of occupational diseases has been the lowest in Belarus for several years. No occupational diseases have been registered this year.
