The metallurgical plant in Miory will be built by Russians
The tender for the construction of a metallurgical plant for the production of sheet metal and tinplate in Miory, Vitebsk region, with a cost of 250 million euros funded by a foreign investor, was won by the Russian company "Metalprom," which has experience in constructing similar facilities in Egypt, Algeria, and other countries.
Next week, as informed by the General Director of the construction site MPPZ "GROUP" Sergey Cheburanov, the Russians will accept the ready site of the future enterprise, where all survey work has been successfully completed and some necessary communications have been laid, including an asphalt road. The enterprise will not only provide up to 500 jobs for the region but also improve the "social sphere" of the district center itself: in housing, medicine, and culture.
It should be especially noted the support in attracting the investor and creating the most favorable conditions for him by the leadership of the Republic of Belarus. Thus, according to the Decrees of the President, not only land of over 40 hectares was allocated for the future enterprise, but also the creation of infrastructure facilities at the state's expense: highway and railway roads, power grids, and natural gas. Only for the latter, 40 billion rubles were allocated from the budget.
The Miory Rolling Mill will produce 240 thousand tons of products per year. It will fully supply Glubokoye and Rogachev condensed milk plants and other enterprises of the Republic with tinplate. A large part of the products, over 80 percent, will be exported to countries of near and far abroad.
