The international activities of Belarusian deputies contribute to dialogue with Council of Europe member states - A.Rubinov

June 1, Lepel District / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Cooperation between the Council for Interaction of Local Self-Government Bodies under the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly and the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe contributes to a constructive dialogue with Council of Europe member states. This point of view was expressed to journalists by the Chairman of the Council of the Republic, Chairman of the Council for Interaction of Local Self-Government Bodies, Anatoly Rubinov, in response to a question from a BELTA correspondent. The speaker of the upper house of the Belarusian parliament regretted that the West knows about Belarus based on subjective assessments of some people. At the same time, those who have visited Belarus get a completely different, positive impression of it. This is precisely why establishing dialogue between Belarusian and European parliaments is so important, believes Anatoly Rubinov. Speaking about the activities of the Council for Interaction of Local Self-Government Bodies, its chairman noted that this collegial advisory body is designed to develop proposals for further improving the activities of local self-government, and to summarize and disseminate their work experience. Thus, based on the results of today's meeting in the Lepel District, in the opinion of Anatoly Rubinov, attention should be paid to the organization of services for the rural population in the Kamensky and Borovsky rural councils. Specialized production enterprises have been established in these rural councils, which are engaged in processing household plots, procuring firewood, and other similar work. At the same time, at their own expense, these enterprises provide discounts on services to lonely pensioners and low-income citizens. The participants of the meeting became acquainted not only with the work of the Kamensky and Borovsky Councils of Deputies in supporting personal subsidiary plots, but also with the organization of communal and household services for the population, the development of medical services, and visited the "Zhemchuzhina" children's rehabilitation and health center. Members of the Council for Interaction of Local Self-Government Bodies, heads of local Councils of Deputies and executive committees took part in the event. -0-
