The international educational, cultural, and entertainment conference "Art-Limud Belarus" will be held in Vitebsk from September 12-14, according to BelTA.

The "Limud" conference (which means "learning" in Hebrew) will bring together about 650 people from Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, Great Britain, Israel, the USA, and other countries in Vitebsk. Among the star guests are famous actor Emmanuil Vitorgan, journalist and TV presenter Lev Novozhenov, and poet Igor Irtenyev. The Ambassador of Israel to Belarus, Yosef Shagal, is also expected in Vitebsk. The conference, dedicated to creativity, culture, and art, will simultaneously feature up to eight different sessions, allowing participants to tailor their programs as they wish. Round tables, discussions, lectures, training sessions, excursions, master classes, concerts, exhibitions, creative evenings, and meetings are planned. A total of about 120 events will be organized over the three days. The main venues for the conference will be the Belarusian Puppet Theater "Lyalka," the Art Museum, and the Yakub Kolas National Academic Drama Theater. This will be the second time the conference is held in Belarus, and the second time Vitebsk will host the forum's participants. This year, "Art-Limud" has expanded beyond a single city, with events dedicated to Eliezer Ben-Yehuda, the creator of the state language of the Republic of Israel, serving as a prologue. These events will take place in Glubokoye (where a bust of Ben-Yehuda is installed in the Square of Famous Countrymen) and Sharkovshchyna District (in the agro-town of Luzhki, a tourist information board will be unveiled on September 11 in honor of a famous native of these places). The conference is organized by the Union of Belarusian Jewish Public Associations and Communities.

The Limmud conference was first held in England in the 1970s. The event was organized by a small group of volunteers. Forty people gathered for several days to share their knowledge with each other. Annual Limmud conferences are held in Great Britain, Holland, France, Germany, Switzerland, South Africa, Israel, the USA, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova (in more than 30 countries worldwide in total) and gather from several hundred to a thousand participants. The first such conference in the former USSR took place in Moscow in 2006. The key to Limmud's success and its main principle lies in the combination of three "Os": learning, recreation, and socializing. On behalf of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, a welcome address was sent to the participants of the International Conference "Art-Limmud Belarus".
