An international logistics company from China is interested in cooperating with the Vitebsk region

The company's management arrived in the region to study the range of manufactured goods. At an official meeting at the regional executive committee, the guests expressed interest in agricultural products – they have heard about the high quality of natural Belarusian products.

The First Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Oleg Matskevich, noted that Belarusian-Chinese cooperation in the region is being implemented in practice: an installation has been built at the Lukomlskaya GRES, the Vitebsk HPP has been erected, and the Orsha Flax Combine has been modernized. An agreement has been signed on the construction of a large-scale livestock farm (MTF) through direct foreign investment, and negotiations are underway on the construction of livestock complexes with the involvement of preferential Chinese loans, etc.

A representative of the regional executive committee assured that cooperation with Chinese partners in the field of logistics can also become a successful mutually beneficial project. Answering a question from a BELTA correspondent, Oleg Matskevich said that transportation costs for delivering products to China amount to 30-40%. "We are looking for logistics companies to make the delivery of our products cheaper and more convenient," he added.

According to the first deputy chairman of the regional executive committee, the Chinese are showing interest in supplying dry and ultra-pasteurized milk, want to buy confectionery products from the "Vitba" factory, optical fibers and cables, and alcoholic beverages. Oleg Matskevich reported that the Vitebsk concern "Meat and Dairy Products" has received the relevant certificates for almost all products and can enter the Chinese market. "Now we need to decide on the assortment and logistics – whether the containers will be delivered by sea or by rail. That's why we are looking for logisticians, their help will be very useful," he explained. The program for the stay of the Chinese guests includes, among other things, visits to food industry enterprises.
