International Energy Saving Day - November 11

November 11 is declared the Energy Saving Day on the initiative of the international environmental network "School Project for the Reuse and Energy" (SPARE). 

International Energy Saving Day is a great reason to talk again about energy-efficient technologies, ways to save energy at home and in the office, and renewable energy sources.  Energy saving plays an important role in conserving natural resources. Saved energy can be used instead of newly produced energy, thereby reducing environmental pollution.

Every year, more and more attention is paid to this holiday, including in the Vitebsk region.

For example, in educational and cultural institutions and enterprises of the Orsha district, more than 50 events are planned dedicated to this day. These include poster and video contests, quizzes, exhibitions, informational and educational programs, collection containers for used batteries have been installed, and many other interesting events and campaigns. Other districts of the region are also actively participating.

The Vitebsk Regional Inspectorate for the Rational Use of Fuel and Energy Resources traditionally takes an active part in the holiday events. Posters informing about this day are posted in advance on stands at the inspectorate.

On November 11, 2019, from 15:00 to 17:00, a round table on the topic "Energy Saving Management. Comprehensive Solutions in the Field of Energy Efficiency" will be held at the Vitebsk Regional Inspectorate for the Rational Use of Fuel and Energy Resources as part of the International Energy Saving Day. Visitors to the inspectorate on this day will be given energy-saving leaflets. Visitor surveys are also planned.

At Secondary School No. 35 in Vitebsk, which is the winner of the republican competition "Energy Marathon-2018" in the nomination "System of the Educational Process and Information and Propaganda Work in the Field of Energy Saving in an Educational Institution," an extracurricular event dedicated to the topic of energy saving in the educational process and in everyday life will be held.
