The international hot air balloon festival is taking place today in Orsha, a BELTA correspondent reports.
Residents of Orsha were able to witness a colorful and unusual event today. 10 crews of balloonists from Belarus and Lithuania simultaneously took to the sky over the city. The city stadium became the launch site for the balloons. Within the framework of the "Peaceful Sky of Orsha Region" festival, it was planned to conduct three balloon launches. The first was canceled due to poor weather conditions, and the festival participants will make the third attempt in the evening.
Orsha is celebrating its 946th birthday and the 69th anniversary of its liberation from the Nazi invaders today. Delegations from twin cities from Russia, Lithuania, Armenia, Moldova, and Turkey are participating in the celebrations. In connection with the reorganization of the region's management structure and the unification of the city and district into a single administrative unit, the re-signing of letters of intent is planned. With the participation of foreign guests, the opening ceremony of the alley of twin cities, of which Orsha has more than 10, will take place.
