The International Festival of Modern Choreography in Vitebsk has been postponed to 2021
This year, the forum was supposed to gather its fans for the 33rd time on the last week of November. "A diverse international program was being prepared with the participation of the most famous ballets from Italy, Russia, France, Belarus, Ukraine, and many accompanying events (master classes, exhibitions). The authentic project "Evenings of Belarusian Modern Choreography," which was supposed to feature performances by laureates of IFMC competitions of different years and their new premieres, would surely have appealed to sophisticated audiences. Unfortunately, due to the epidemiological situation, the festival is postponed to next year," stated the Deputy General Director.
Marina Romanovskaya noted that starting from September, with the worsening epidemiological situation in the world, various options for holding the Vitebsk dance forum were considered: online, in a Belarusian-only format, etc. For various reasons, including non-compliance with the IFMC regulations, which are currently being finalized, all of them were gradually rejected. "We very much hope that in 2021 we will be able to hold the festival without losses," added Marina Romanovskaya.
