The XXVII International Music Festival named after I. Sollertinsky will be held at the Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic from December 1 to 18, as reported by one of the organizers, Associate Professor of the Department of Music Theory of the Belarusian State Academy of Music, Nelly Matsaberidze.

The overture will be an organ music concert by the laureate of international competitions, Italian Eugenio Fagiani. "The maestro performs in Europe, Russia, Israel, the USA, and Canada. At this time, he is, so to speak, on a concert tour of Belarus: concerts at festivals in Minsk, Polotsk, and here in Vitebsk. The program will feature compositions by Bach, Franck, Mahler, Handel, and Eugenio Fagiani himself. Organ concerts have been reliably included in the festival program for several years now, because we have a wonderful instrument that attracts the interest of renowned performers," noted Nelly Matsaberidze. At the opening of the forum on December 3, on Ivan Sollertinsky's birthday, a trio of soloists from Russia - Alexander Chernov (violin), Oleg Bugaev (cello), and Natalia Bogdanova (piano) - will give a chamber music concert. The program will include, among others, Shostakovich's composition - the trio "In Memory of I.I. Sollertinsky".

A rare treat for the Vitebsk public will be a concert of early music. The international duo of Dmitry Zubov from St. Petersburg and Galina Matyukova from Minsk will perform Baroque music on historical instruments - a harpsichord and a traverso flute. The festival organizers strive to discover new names for the listeners each time. In addition to the aforementioned, laureate of international competitions Michael O'Rourke from Ireland will come to Vitebsk by special invitation of the forum's ideologist Dmitry Sollertinsky. At his piano concert "Music of the Night," which includes nocturnes, sonatas, preludes, and a lullaby, listeners will experience the full range of moods and states of this time of day. A special event will be a chamber music concert by an ensemble of soloists

"Classic-Avant-Garde" - dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the ensemble and the 180th anniversary of the birth of Polish violinist and composer Henryk Wieniawski. "Classic-Avant-Garde" is one of the initiators of the Vitebsk festival and its practically permanent participant.

The honor of closing the musical celebration is given to a long-time friend of the forum - People's Artist of Russia Alexey Lyubimov. He is a staunch advocate of authentic performance of music from the 17th-19th centuries, which listeners will experience at a piano concert featuring compositions by Mozart, Beethoven, Scriabin, and Pärt. Traditionally, the festival also includes scientific readings, in which musicologists from Belgium, Latvia, Italy, Ireland, Russia, and Belarus will take part.
