The International Symposium on Advanced Materials will be held on May 25-26 in the Vitebsk region.
May 23, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA /. The international symposium "Advanced Materials and Technologies" will be held in the Vitebsk region on May 25-26 with the participation of representatives from Belarus, Russia, Poland, China, and South Korea. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the administration of the Institute of Technical Acoustics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (Vitebsk).
More than 50 leading scientists and specialists from research centers and educational institutions will gather at the traditional scientific forum. The symposium will present the results of theoretical research and experimental developments in the field of advanced materials, technologies for their production, and methods for studying their structure and properties. One of the scientific directions of the forum will be the discussion of research in the field of strength and plasticity of materials, including nanocrystalline and microcrystalline metals and alloys, composites, shape memory materials, and high-strength ceramics. Solving problems underlying the creation of new technological processes is largely related to understanding the physical mechanisms of deformation, synthesis, and heat treatment of materials. The symposium plans to consider the results of studying the influence of various external factors, such as ultrasound, on the processes of deformation, defect structure, and properties of materials.
The majority of the reports will be devoted to research of both fundamental and applied significance. At the symposium in the Vitebsk region, scientists will analyze the latest achievements in materials science and technologies, as well as outline new tasks that will be addressed together within a unified scientific process. Through these tasks, it will be possible to develop new materials not only for the real sector of the economy but also, for example, for medicine – this includes new approaches in prosthetics, the creation of medical instruments, and new materials for surgery.
The organizers of the symposium, which will be held at the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve, are the National Academy of Sciences, the State Committee on Science and Technology, the Institute of Technical Acoustics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and the Vitebsk State Technological University, with the support of the Interstate Coordination Council on the Physics of Strength and Plasticity of Materials and the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. -0-
