June 15, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. An international children's and youth rally will bring together teams from Belarus and Russia in the Rossony district of the Vitebsk region, the Rossony district committee of the BRSM informed a BELTA correspondent.
The rally, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the Klyastitsy Battle in the Patriotic War of 1812 and the 65th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, will be held on the shore of the lake in the village of Rovnoye Pole, at the site of the former camp of the K.K. Rokossovsky partisan brigade. Currently, an open-air museum has been created here, and dugouts have been improved, recreating the atmosphere of the war years. From June 19 to 21, a tent city will be set up in this picturesque place. It will host over 150 children representing 15 teams from military-patriotic clubs from various regions of the Vitebsk and Moscow regions.
For three days, young people will learn about the history of Belarus during the war years, recall famous events, and discover new pages during thematic excursions to local museums and meetings with veterans of the Great Patriotic War. In addition, the children will compete in contests of patriotic songs, drawings and newspapers "We are entrusted to preserve this world," as well as a contest of historical military costumes, which participants had to prepare in advance.
The event is held with the aim of strengthening ties between the military-patriotic clubs of Belarus and Russia, increasing the interest of youth in their historical past, and instilling a sense of civic duty in young people. The organizers of the rally are the Rossony District Executive Committee and the district committee of the BRSM. -0-
