An international mini-football tournament for amateur teams was held in Horadok
The competition reached a qualitatively new level three years ago when it was registered in Gorodok. Thanks to the help of local authorities, it has become a true football festival, not limited to battles on the field.
Players come to the festival with their families, and wives and children act not only as fans but can also engage in active recreation. Various attractions, mobile trade, as well as performances by artists and a disco are available for children and adults.
This summer, a record number of teams from Belarus, Russia, and Latvia gathered for the "Cup" – over twenty. The most famous and anticipated team in the district center was, of course, the team of stars of the Belarusian stage "Art-Stars" led by captain, composer and performer, Master of Sports of International Class in Kickboxing Albert Skorokhod.
— We participate in various festivals, charity matches of different formats, and have also played in five world championships for artists. We came to Gorodok with our main squad to gain experience, as good footballers have gathered here, — said Albert Skorokhod. — Our hour-long concert will also take place here, which I hope the local audience will enjoy.
In the preliminary stage, the opponents were divided into subgroups, and based on the results of the competition, the top eight were determined. Then, the champion was determined in the playoff stage. As a result of two intense game days, the "Kalinprodukt" team (Novolukoml) became the best, "Art-Stars" took second place, and "Instrumentkomplekt" (Borisov) took third.
The solemn opening ceremony of the "Hops Cup" was attended by Chairman of the Regional Council of Deputies Vladimir Terentyev.
— I have only bright positive emotions from the festival, — said Vladimir Terentyev. — This is not just a sporting event, there is a warm, home-like atmosphere here. Many came with their families. While husbands play football, children run in the fresh air, try Belarusian cuisine. Also, people from different countries who are passionate about the same sport can communicate with each other.
One of the honored guests of the competition was legend of Soviet and Belarusian sports Anatoly Baydachny.
— I have dedicated my whole life to football and I am glad that it remains popular to this day, — said Anatoly Baydachny. — All those who gathered in Gorodok are ardent fans of the game №1, who, despite the weekend, came out onto the field to demonstrate their skills.
