An inter-district medical center is planned to be established on the basis of the Glubokoye Central District Hospital

Межрайонный медицинский центр планируется создать на базе Глубокской ЦРБ
The possibility of establishing a regional hospital in Glubokoye to provide care for patients with neurological, cardiological, and surgical conditions at an inter-district level is being considered. This was announced by the Minister of Health of Belarus, Vladimir Karanik, during his visit to the Glubokoye Central District Hospital.

– The concept of organizing such specialized centers is relevant, – the minister emphasized. – The task is to ensure that, if necessary, a patient can be transported from any locality to a highly specialized medical center within an hour, where, for example, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, or angiography can be performed.

It also concerns the provision of high-quality care to patients with cardiovascular diseases, oncology, surgical patients, and so on. This concept is being successfully implemented in the country. In some medical institutions, the necessary equipment is already being purchased and installed, while in others, the location for its installation is still being determined.

In a conversation with the Chairman of the Glubokoye District Executive Committee, Alexander Shubsky, Vladimir Karanik stressed that, given the favorable geographical location of the district center and the available resources, the Glubokoye Central District Hospital is considered a promising hospital for the installation of modern high-tech equipment.

– There are all the prerequisites for expanding the diagnostic and surgical capabilities. Currently, patients from the northwestern regions of the Vitebsk region are primarily referred to the regional center. I consider it possible to establish a regional hospital in Glubokoye. Once the final decision on the site selection is made, construction and installation work will begin. The purchase of expensive equipment is planned to be funded by the republican budget.

Vladimir Karanik discussed with Alexander Shubsky the issues related to the development of the healthcare system in the region, the planned repair work in the maternity department, and the replacement of elevators in the Central District Hospital. After that, Vladimir Stepanovich, together with Mikhail Vishnevetsky, Head of the Main Department for Healthcare of the Regional Executive Committee, and Vyacheslav Sabynich, Chief Physician of the Central District Hospital, visited the hospital departments, paying special attention to the treatment of patients with pneumonia and coronavirus infection.

A decrease in the epidemiological process is observed in the Vitebsk region. However, this is not a reason for complacency; medical workers must continue to work with the same intensity, coordination, and efficiency, noted Vladimir Karanik. At the same time, he emphasized that medical institutions are gradually returning to their normal operating mode.

– I regularly visit districts of Vitebsk and other regions to personally monitor the effectiveness of the measures taken. Today, for example, in addition to Glubokoye, I have planned visits to Braslav and Miory, and my deputies Boris Androsyuk and Elena Bogdan are visiting medical institutions in the Mogilev, Brest, and Grodno regions, – Vladimir Karanik told reporters. – We visit districts that, among other things, have low COVID-19 incidence rates. We check how prepared they are for a possible epidemic process, how the work is organized, including the separation of patient flows with fever and those who seek medical attention for other reasons.

Given the improvement in weather conditions, an influx of vacationers to the Braslav Lakes and Miory is inevitable, which, according to the minister, may cause an increase in cases of illness, and not only those related to coronavirus infection. Medical institutions must be prepared to provide all types of medical care.
